After that I installed Link2SD and could successfully free 40+ MB of space ... and all new applications now go onto a 2nd partition on the SD-card. It was really easy going ;)

Thanks for this, there will come a time when I have to root my Fire XT, but at the moment, there is no overwhelming desire. Cann you upgrade your OS to the next level?

Instead of using one of the expensive smartphones out there I desided to go with this little peace of hardware ;) (Fire XT 530)
After searching for a way to get rid of the memory problem (only 160MB) I today successfully rooted my device in a very easy way !!!
